10 Months

It is official!  You have reached the double digits!  Ten whole months old…and you are all over the place!

You are beginning to talk more and more.  You still say lots of da-da, ya-ya, and maybe even the occasional ba-ba.  Still no ma-ma, but we are working on it.  You now enjoy playing more games…especially handing things back and forth.  You hand me your comb, I say thank you, I hand it back to you, and then you hand it back to me.  For some reason, this game makes you giggle and giggle, and you will play it over and over and over again J  You continue to be a happy, chill, and inquisitive baby.  You are always in constant motion, never sitting still.  You will play all the way up until bed time with no breaks.  You rarely sit still!

This month marks a new first for you - teeth!  You have your first ones coming through.  One of top and one on bottom…maybe even more.  You are handing it well, but we can tell you get uncomfortable at times.  It is so funny to see tiny teeth in that little mouth.

You moved up to the next class in preschool, so you are now with Miss Jenny and Miss Betty.  Miss Dot still gets to see you in the afternoons too!  Since you have been in this class, you have grown and developed at a very fast rate.  Your ability to get around is improving every day.  You are now able to stand on your own for a little bit at a time, and you finally are crawling on your hands and knees!  This makes getting around much quicker for you.  I can’t take my eyes off of you these days because you can get to another room in no time!  You have also taking to “cruising” around.  You can go from sofa to loveseat to coffee table to toys without ever sitting down.  As long as it is in arm’s reach, you can get there.

Being in your new class means you get to experience lots of new things.  You have water day on Mondays, and you love it!  You wear your bathing suit to school, and you get to play outside on the water mat all morning.  Your teachers say this is one of your favorite things.  Another first was a birthday party!  Everyone celebrates their birthday at school, so you got to join in this time and have your first cupcake.  Something you definitely loved.  Being in this new class also means new germs, and you have had you first bout with pink eye.  It doesn’t’ seem to bother you at all, but you definitely don’t like to have the drops put in your eyes.  After using the drops, we ended up with thrush.  I never would have known that you had it had I not gotten it also.  I had to use a cream and you have to have some medicine, but it cleared up quickly.  This all happened during the time of us slowly ending our nursing.

I quit pumping the day you turned ten months because I only got on ounce form an hour of pumping.  Shortly after that, we went from morning and night, to just night, to none at all.  I was a little sad to pack up the nursing pillow.  It has been used multiple times a day, every day for your whole life.  I miss that time with you, and it makes you seem so much older to me.  No longer that tiny little baby that could easily curl up on top of the pillow, but a big boy who wants down to play and doesn’t have time for all that nursing!  You began to show signs of disinterest (probably because there wasn’t much there for you), so it ended up being a good time for both of us.  You transitioned with complete ease, and had no problems with the change…just like everything you have tried.  You are a very adaptable baby.  Always going with the flow, and that is just one of the many things that makes you incredibly awesome.

Love you my giggles,
Mama
