So, today you are 7 months old. We are going to have to do six and seven in
this post because mama didn’t get to six months. It was the crunch time of tax season, so cut
me some slack! You have grown and
changed leaps and bounds in the past two months. You wouldn’t even recognize that five month
old you used to be.
Your little personality is starting to show, and if it is
any indication of your future self…I think I am going to have my hands
full! You are all boy that’s for
sure. You have learned the art of
manipulation at an early age, and the fake coughing has reached a whole new
level. We are trying to ignore it so you
won’t continue, but some people aren’t on the band wagon…mainly your Papa Bear. I have heard that when I leave the room, you
two fake cough back and forth the whole time…but I guess that is what
grandparents are for. They do all the
stuff you want to do instead of what you are supposed to do J
Your favorite things are still eating and the pacifier… with
which you are pretty much obsessed. You
also still enjoy being outside and your car rides. You love to make noise, talk, yell, blow raspberries, fake
cough…ugh, and everything in between.
You roll and roll and roll and love to play in your bed. You also love your bear because you can cover
you face with him, and play peek-a-boo which is your favorite game. When your face is covered you will just
giggle and arch your back, and you give me the biggest grin when you are
uncovered. We could play this game for
hours!
You now use the highchair to eat your meals, and you eat
like a champ as always. You always
finish your food at daycare no matter how much I send, and you still love your
bananas most of all. You had a real
banana a few days ago, and (as long as it is ripe) you love it just the same. You now even have banana flavored cereal that
you enjoy much more than the others.
And…you even hold your own bottle for your daddy!
You are still a snotty mcsnotters, but we have been told
this comes with the first year of daycare, so hopefully, after that, you won’t
have it so much. We are still waiting on
some teeth, but it could be any day now.
You can now poop and poot with the best of them, and some days you give
your daddy a run for his money!
As far as your mobility goes, you can now sit up, roll over
and over, and you love to stand and jump, jump, jump. You have a jumper that you love, and it is
hard for you to sit still. You can hold
on to things and stand up on your own too.
You are starting the basics of crawling.
You get on your knees and scoot around.
Currently, you go backwards, but I bet you be going forward in just a
matter of time.
You really love other kids and dogs. When there is another baby near by, you want
to play! You like to baby talk back and
forth, and you always reach out to touch (or grab) the other baby. Whenever Hank, Bogey, or Roxy comes around,
you just watch and laugh! There is
something about a dog that just cracks you up.
And speaking of laughing…you laugh out loud now, and it is probably the
most wonderful sound I have ever heard.
It could be the cutest thing ever…next to yourself of course J
At your six month visit, you weighed 16 lbs! You have been growing and growing and
growing. You were so little for so long
always barely fitting into your age clothes, and now you can wear some nine
month outfits at seven. You are even
catching up to your best bud Sailors who has always been much bigger than
you. Our tiny little baby isn’t so tiny
anymore. You had shots at this visit,
and you took them like a champ…barely crying at all! You are getting better with your sleep, but
we still have some rough nights here and there.
Most nights we have to get up at least once, but you usually don’t eat
anymore. Mostly, you need the pacifier,
or you need help flipping back to your belly.
It is much, much better than it used to be…but we still have a little
ways to go.
Everyone always comments about how cute you are and how
great your hair is. It is wild and
crazy, but I think that just helps with the cuteness. You are still a favorite among your teachers,
and, since you are the last to arrive and the last to leave, you get some nice
one on one time with Ms. Dot or Ms. Paige.
They love to rock you, play with you, or stroll you around with one of
the older babies. When I get there, you
now reach for me and seem excited. This
is definitely the best part of my day.
Seeing you recognize me and be happy that I am there just fills me
up! You are the absolute best J
You keep laughing, and I will keep tickling…but lets see if
we can keep the fake coughing to a bare minimum. Deal?
Love,
Mama
